TITLE: "I hope I remember how to swim."
AUTHOR: Divya B.
Mothers love to hoard,
And I pray to god that I do not follow,
Collecting relics of a forgotten childhood
Maybe she never wanted me to grow
They remind her of the version of me that was a compliant, mouldable entity
All I am now is a parasite leaching out the happy,
The dreams got hoarded and shelved when I was barely an hour old,
Pink lines on a white strip cracked their hazy glass fogged up with smoke of burning aspirations and let the water in,
They have been drowning ever since.
