TITLE: Meet Me In The Meadows (An Ode to Childhood)

AUTHOR: Fatmah Al Shamri

ARTIST: Jacarri

Meet me in the meadows,

Where the clouds run wild,

Where you’re free to roam forever,

As though you’ll always stay a child.

Meet me in the meadows,

Where the lemon tree grows,

Where we sat and laughed for hours,

Lemonade drops beneath my nose.

Meet me in the meadows,

Where we can climb up the trees,

Surrounded by the serene silence,

which draped the canary’s melodies.

Meet me in the meadows,

Where we’d dig up huge holes,

When we thought dinosaurs existed,

And snacked on pizza rolls.

Meet me in the meadows,

In the lands of pet bunnies and kittens,

Where the antarctic breeze blows,

And we denied needing mittens.

Meet me in the meadows,

Where the neighbour boy would play,

And his best friend watches,

Dreaming of their wedding day.

Meet me in the meadows,

That place devoid of time,

Before we both grow up,

And forget nostalgia's churned chime.

So meet me in the meadows,

With the really nice view,

Laying on the soft bed of clovers,

Where I had first fallen in love with you.
